I have been accumulating AOL diskettes and CDs for some time, however, my efforts are insignificant compared to yours. I am not an AOL user nor a stockholder. I do agree with you that I believe that they will be the next big collectible. I dearly regret all the disks I used and threw away all those many years ago.

Hi Lydia, Stumbled across your website from an article in Wired magazine. Thought I was the only "nut" collecting these disks. I am impressed by your web site and have been in contact since with many other collectors. I am so enthusiastic about this and the stuff I found on eBay that's AOL-ized, I have created an AOL Collectible mailing list. Anyone reading this can easily join at:

http://www.coollist.com/subscribe.html The list name is aolcollectibles then enter your e-mail address and you're subscribed

Strangely enough, I just received an America Online 6.0 disk in the mail. It sure is weird how these disks travel. I work for Gateway, and I know 7.0 has been out for awhile now. Anyways, this freebie came in a beautiful square silver tin, with flat black, metallic red, and opaque white logo and lettering. The part that says 6.0 is on a round clear adhesive backed sticker, laid on top of the "eye" of the AOL trinagle. This thing looks so beautiful, that I considered going out and getting a matte and frame for it. Unfortunately, there was a very slight blister on top of this decal that could not be flattened, and removing the decal would scratch the tin. If anybody comes across one of these AOL tins in pristine condition, I would be glad to pay no more than $10 for it as long as it's sealed in its wrapper, and the decal on the tin has no blemishes. I intend to frame it and hang it as a piece of art in my home.

Thanks for posting this webpage. This made me really realize how misleading AOL's advertisements are. Is there any difference between "titanium", "diamond", "platinum", or "gold"? It's trickery. My favorite AOL advertisements are the pyramid schemes, the "sign on a friend and get $25". Wonder how much AOL spends on all those CD's? No wonder it's the most expensive dial up service.

Hello, we are the designers who have created most of the UK cd's. Just to let you know we've seen your site and love it. We can't believe you like our work to the extent that you've made an entire website about them. Brilliant! It's often hard to come up with so many varied and interesting designs so we spend an awful lot of time in the pub for beer fuelled inspiration. If you like will forward you a JPeg of the new Lord of the Rings III cd when it's finished in a few weeks. Cheers and keep up the good work... James, Matt (Anger-lad), Lee, Oggy, Funkster and G4head

I've been on AOL before and I like the features on the service, especially the fact I can order AOL CDs....MWUHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm seriously addicted to AOL CDs and I must save them from the hands of evil people, if that promotes death row to people that kill AOL CDs, I'm all for it. I to believe the more AOL CDs I get, the better I feel psychologically, I can be depressed on the way to suicide, and when I get AOL CDs I become happy and filled with energy. Now on the other hand seeing people doing mean things to AOL CDs or hearing about it brings out the demon in me, I turn so cold and evil I could almost hurt somebody badly. I believe AOL CDs have a mind of their own, kind of per say, and they DO have feelings, and they have never harmed no one, so it isn't them that should quote "die" or "go away", it's the anti-christic AOL haters that should. If you don't like them or want them to go away, send them to me, LOL, then they are away from you and aren't treated bad or in a landfill. I really wish AOL would recognize me more since I have told AOL all the cool features they put in their service.....taking my ideas, they could at least send me a check or invite me to AOL conferences and stuff. Actually I'm suicidal mostly because of all the bad stuff about AOL CDs it just gets to me eventually since they've always been there for me and stuff, so it drives me insane after a while hearing that stuff. Please send me AOL CDs, because you would rather see me alive, than with a gun to my head pulling the trigger, LOL. aolcdcollector@yahoo.com or mailing address: Dani Funk, PO BOX 52274, Durham, NC 27717-2274
