Welcome!  I started collecting AOL diskettes and CDs in 2000 when I noticed
their interesting designs. I consider them fine artifacts of pop culture.
I also enjoyed the thrill of the hunt; checking magazines and free-newspaper stands
each month to see if a CD was bundled with them, and trading with other collectors.
Finding new designs was always a challenge, as some were thinly distributed or
commissioned specially for a magazine or event. Finding older versions (now considered
"vintage") was always difficult, as most people just threw them out.

By the time AOL stopped producing them I had found over 2,500 unique
diskettes and CDs, from Version 1.0 to 9.  I have no idea
how many different designs exist world-wide; my best WAG is 4,000.

Since production has stopped and they're even harder to find, I now discuss
other pop culture collectibles and Boomer/Gen-X nostalgia items in my blog.
Eventually the blog will become its own site. Enjoy your visit!
